Our goal is to make every client’s life a little easier, by being available with sound advice and solid direction, from our first phone conversation to your grand opening.

We’re based in Providence, RI and provide services throughout the Northeast. Among our staff of 26 people – of whom 12 are registered architects and 11 are LEED accredited professionals – you will find our designers are as flexible and friendly as the buildings we design. We will bring your vision to life with clarity by creating comprehensive drawings in rich and unambiguous detail, ensuring that your expectations, schedule and budget are met without complications. So when that public hearing is approaching, or your CEO is flying in to view color schemes, or an underground storage tank is uncovered, you’ll be confident that you have the best team for the job.

Our firm has grown organically over the years, driven by recognized expertise and client loyalty. In 1994 Steve Durkee and Doug Brown pursued their first project together as a professional team: the creation of affordable housing from a group of historic mill-worker houses. Since then our management, our staff and our portfolio have grown significantly. But we still believe that design excellence is in the details (and elegant details can be affordable), that projects should be managed to seem effortless, and that our design team’s enthusiasm will rub off on the people who invest in it.
