A beautiful 12-acre site containing a historic farmhouse and surrounded by stone walls provided the setting for a new Parish Church in Wickford, RI. The design of the new building utilizes vernacular architectural forms and materials in new ways to create a dramatic space for worship and for parish hall functions.
The exterior features stepped roof forms and board-and-batten siding evoking simple rural churches and New England farm buildings. In the sanctuary, exposed trusses and ample diffused daylighting enrich a space that is at once contemplative and inspirational.
